For the first time, the MA Interior Design and MA Interior Architecture and Interior Design programs present the collective outcomes of the Fall 2025 charrettes in a public exhibition. Over the course of just five intensive days each fall semester, students from both the first and third semesters work across four distinct design challenges, each exploring relevant topics in interiors discourse. The charrette is an intense, collaborative design workshop rooted in the Beaux-Arts tradition.
The goal is to push students to work together to translate complex ideas into tangible interior interventions. Originally named after the carts (charrettes) that rushed student drawings to the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, this pedagogical model emphasizes rapid iteration, collective energy and creative problem solving.
